Jackson Michigan's Wine Trail
The wineries and vineyards around Jackson are spangled along an enchanting drive through the countryside. Along the tour, you'll encounter sparkling lakes, rolling hills, quaint towns and acres of lush farmland. Several of these locations form the heart of the region's Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail, which extends for miles in all directions.

Over the last 100 years, four generations of the Burtkas family have crafted wonderful wines. Today, this boutique winery produces several excellent wines using Old World hand crafting techniques.
Cherry Creek Old Schoolhouse Winery

Located in a historic 1870 schoolhouse, this location features a wine tasting room and fudgery and offers gourmet foods and local delicacies.
Lone Oak Vineyard Estate

Hours: Open March 1 through December 31, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m., every day. From January 1 to February 28, call for hours.
Established in 1997, this vineyard produces several varieties of wine. Their hand-crafted wines are made from estate and locally grown fruit.
Pentamere Winery

Pentamere Winery's winery and tasting room are located in a restored 1800s storefront in Tecumseh's historical district. Their wines are crafted from grapes of Michigan and the Great Lakes region.

Founded in 1921, St. Julian is Michigan's oldest and largest winery. They offer a wide variety of fine wines, sparkling juices, brandies, wine accessories, gift items and gift baskets. Enjoy free tastings of both wine and juice.

For a round-trip tour of the six wineries that surround Jackson, start early and plan to make a day of it. Along the way, you'll encounter antique shops, beautiful parks and delightful spots to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Here is one possible round-trip route of area wineries; the total drive time is about two hours. Enjoy!
Downtown Jackson to Old Schoolhouse Winery
- Beginning in downtown Jackson, drive to Brooklyn Road/M-50 East
- Take the ramp onto US-127 South
- Turn left onto US-12 East
- Arrive at your first stop, Old Schoolhouse Winery, 15750 US-12, Cement City, on the left
Old Schoolhouse Winery to Pentamere Winery
- Leaving the Old Schoolhouse Winery, continue east on US-12
- Turn right onto M-50
- Arrive at Pentamere Winery, 131 E. Chicago Boulevard, Tecumseh, on the left
Pentamere Winery to Lone Oak Vineyard Estate
- Leaving Pentamere Winery, head back west on M-50
- Turn right onto M-52, heading north. Continue to follow signs for M-52
- Turn left to take the ramp onto I-94 West
- Take exit #147/Race Road
- Turn left onto Race Road
- Turn right on Ann Arbor Road
- Arrive at Lone Oak Vineyard Estate, 8400 Ann Arbor Road, Grass Lake, on the right
Lone Oak Vineyard Estate to Sandhill Crane Vineyards
- Head northeast on Ann Arbor Road toward Knight Road/Service Road
- Turn right at Stull Road
- Take a slight left at Ann Arbor Road
- Turn right at Whipple Road
- Continue on Brills Lake Road
- Turn right at Walz Road
- Arrive at Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Road, Jackson, on the left
Sandhill Crane Vineyards to St. Julian Winery
- Head south on Walz Road toward Ellen Lane
- Turn right at Brills Lake Road
- Turn left at Sargent Road
- Turn right to merge onto I-94 West
- Take exit #127/Concord
- Turn left at N. Concord Road (signs for Concord)
- Arrive at St. Julian Winery, 2110 N Concord Road, Parma, on the right
St. Julian Winery to Cherry Creek Cellars Vineyard, Winery & Tasting Room
- Leaving St. Julian Winery, head north on N. Concord Road
- Arrive at Cherry Creek Cellars, 2199 N. Concord Road, Albion
Cherry Creek Cellars Vineyard, Winery & Tasting Room back to Jackson
- Head north on N. Concord Rd toward Erie Road
- Turn right to merge onto I-94 East and take highway back into Jackson
