Foliage Tour
Start at Us 127 and I-94, exit M-50 and continue to Minard Road. Turn South to Stepladder Road and continue South on Benn Road. Go South on Rogers then West on County Farm Road.
Continue to Parma Road. Turn South to Michigan Ave., then make a left and continue to Indian Brook Farms. Enjoy a farmer’s market, u-pick produce and fish hatchery.
Get back on Michigan going East. Turn North on Blackman Road. Go to Hendee Road and turn East to M-50. Turn right and bear right to US 127 South (return to starting point).
Driving Routes
Start at Ella Sharp Museum and Complex. Visit the Victorian Homes, farm and shops, art gallery, Granary Restaurant and old-fashioned soda fountain. Mid October is Fall Harvest Day and Art Fair. Enjoy old-fashioned fun such as demonstrations, cider pressing, corn shelling and entertainment.
Continue West on Fourth Street to Horton Road to South Jackson Road to Wickwire Road and visit the Craft-O-Rama at Jackson Community College in Mid October. Take Kimmel Road West to South Jackson Road. Turn South on South Jackson Road to Flavor Fruit Farms. Have lunch or a snack at the country store and enjoy the smell of home-baked pies and pastries. Take advantage of the great tasting fall harvest of fruits and vegetables.
Continue South to US 12 to Moscow Road to Hanover to Fairview to the Lee Conklin Antique Organ Museum with close to 100 originally restored organs dating back to the Civil War. Early October is the Fall Heritage Festival with cider pressing, sheep shearing, basket making, dulcimers, banjos and much more.
Continue to Child’s Buffalo Farm just down the road to Rountree. Take a buggy ride out to see the buffalo and maybe enjoy a buffalo burger.
Continue West on Hanover Road to Pulaski Road to the Mann House Museum and enjoy the Victorian era house and gardens.
Take M-60 back to Jackson and stop at the Parlour for Jackson’s finest ice cream.
Back Roads
Starting from I-94, take exit 153 South (Clear Lake Road) to the Waterloo Recreational Area in the State Park. Walking trails and more.
Continue on Waterloo Road to Waterloo-Munith Road to the Waterloo Farm House and relive history through this Victorian era farm house. Mid-October is Pioneer days with some old-fashioned fun, demonstrations of quilting, butter churning, cider making, and more. Take a wagon ride or sit and enjoy refreshments and entertainment.
Continue just down the road for a step back in time at the one room Dewey School.
Continue on Route 106 West to Gee Farms and enjoy the taste and smells of home baked goods and the fall harvest fruits and vegetables.
Continue on Route 106 back to Jackson and end at the Parlour with some of Jackson’s finest ice cream.
