Cruising Around Jackson

Regularly scheduled warm-weather “cruises” through downtown Jackson and the village of Brooklyn promise car enthusiasts their fill of chrome, tailfins, racing stripes and lake pipes.

Downtown Cruise Nights Classic Car Cruise-In

The streets of downtown Jackson are lined with hundreds of cars once a month, May through September. Free and fun for the whole family, the street party features classics, antiques and street rods as well as DJ music, giveaways, contests, dash plaques and more.

When: In 2010, May 28 (6pm), June 25 (6pm), July 23 (6pm), August 27 (6pm), and September 25 (1pm)

Brooklyn Big Boy Cruise Night

Celebrating their 15th year in 2009, Jay and Deb Pajot host “Cruise Night” at the Brooklyn Big Boy. Classic and custom automobiles, hit music from the 50s and 60s, games for kids and adults and door prize drawings throughout the evening mean fun for everyone. At the end of each evening, one lucky winner has the chance to drive a classic vehicle for a $50 cash prize.

Race Fest Classic Car Cruise

The car-fueled excitement near Brooklyn reaches beyond the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in June. From 4 to 8 p.m., Brooklyn’s classic Town Square is the site of the Race Fest Classic Car Cruise, which is just part of the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Race Fest. Running from noon ‘til 11 p.m., Race Fest kicks off the racing season at MIS, and features tons of race-themed thrills.
